WE ARE ANDREW AND SUZANNE MCDOWELL AND LIVE IN A SMALL COUNTRY VILLAGE NEAR THE EAST COAST,

YORKSHIRE.

WE ARE COMMITTEE MEMBERS OF BRIDLINGTON CANINE SOCIETY.

ANDREW IS CUP STEWARD/COMMITTEE MEMBER FOR NORTHERN ENGLISH SETTER SOCIETY.

ANDREW IS ON THE C LIST FOR JUDGING AND AVAILABLE FOR JUDGING APPOINTMENTS.

AT THE PRESENT TIME WE HAVE 5 DOGS LIVING WITH US:

BAILEY (Ravensett Cointreau with Byedales) Aged 7
LUCY (Moorbrook Lucy in the Sky with Byedales) Aged 4
BLUE (Ravensett Blue Velvet from Byedales) Aged 18 months
RUBY (Byedales Paperback Writer) Aged 11 months
PENNY (Byedales Penny Lane) Aged 11 months

We have owned english setters for about 14 years, Gemma was our first being a rescue aged 18 months. A few years later we visited a local dog show and decided we would like to get one to start showing. This was Monty (Taramber Tough Act at Byedales) who we sadly lost aged 10 last year. He was our first show dog and although he never did very well in the showring we learnt a lot with him.

Then came Bailey from Sharon Littlechild. He did quite well as a puppy but decided he preferred to be at home by the fire! He has a super temperament like all Ravensetts and stands back while the girls get their biscuits or dinner first. He is a gentleman.

We saw a nice litter and were lucky to obtain Lucy from Ken and Lorna Howarth in the hope that she would be our foundation bitch. She did very well as a puppy in the showring. At 3 years old we mated Lucy to Rosco (Bournehouse Royal Colours) and in June 2007 she had a super litter of 7 puppies. After much deliberation, as they were all such good quality puppies, we decided to keep an orange bitch, Ruby, and all the other puppies went to loving homes around the country. Unfortunately we had a puppy returned due to illness of the new owner and so we now have 2 puppies. Penny and Ruby. We call them "the terrible twins". Each day a new damage report from what they have got up to. So naughty together with so much energy they are on the go all day long. They go to ringcraft training and are very good learning to show. At their first show at Bridlington Ruby got Best English Setter Puppy and Penny got 3rd prize in her class. They are entered for many more shows this year.
